Appointments
Telephone the surgery at 8.30am to arrange an appointment for that day. These appointments are available from 9.30am to 11.30am and at any time during the evening surgery.
Telephone the surgery after 11.00am if you require an appointment over the following four weeks. These appointments are available from 8.30am to 9.30am and at any time during the evening surgery.
Please note that evening appointments are generally for patients who work or are unable to attend morning surgery for health reasons.
Kings Lane Medical Centre provides emergency cover for any patients needing urgent medical attention on Thursday afternoon. Please telephone 0151 645 1020 when the answer phone will give you a contact number - you must telephone this number before attending the surgery.
It is important that you inform the surgery as soon as possible if you are unable to keep your appointment so that it can be given to another patient.
Home Visits
Home visits are at the discretion of the doctor. Please do not ask for a visit if you can make your way to the surgery (remember, the doctor can see four patients in surgery in the time it takes for one home visit). When a visit is necessary please call before 10.30am. When taking your call the receptionists must take sufficient details to enable the doctor to prioritise her visits.
Telephone Advice
The doctor is available to give advice over the telephone. Please telephone the surgery between 9.00am and 10.00am when you will be given an approximate time that the doctor will return your call. The receptionist will ask for as much information as you feel comfortable giving as this will prepare the doctor for when she speaks to you.
Emergency Out of Hours Cover
There is always a doctor on call for emergencies.
The Wirral Emergency Out of Hours Service is an emergency service which operates from a Primary Care Centre located at Arrowe Park Hospital.
The Wirral Emergency Out of Hours Service operates between 6.30pm and 8.00am weekdays, the whole of the weekend, Bank Holidays and Public Holidays. (24 hour weekend and bank holiday cover)
You are able to access this service when:-
- The surgery is closed
- You have an urgent health care problem and
- You feel that the problem cannot wait until the next routine surgery.
